Super, fantastic book about a very current Greek Orthodox Saint. Saint Paisios lived on Mount Athos in Greece. This book gives great advice to things that happen in our current times living our lives.
It is told in a very easy to read way. I actually know someone who met this Saint when he was alive. This Saint of Christ would know your name without you telling him.
This book tells about many who came to him for spiritual advice. There are different chapters on how to face the different struggles in our lives.
Reading about the lives of the Saints is a great way to lift your soul and motivate you to pray more and try to be closer to Christ as we live our lives. This short life is to prepare us for the eternal life in Heaven with Christ. The way we live with Christ's Love in every interaction and situation is how we grow as Christians.
He was baptized by another great Saint - Saint Arsenios. This is a must have book! Saint Paisios also wrote books himself that are fantastic. Another must have book for spiritual growth and edification is a book called "Wounded By Love" about another current Greek Orthodox Saint named Saint Porphyrios. In these difficult times, we all need Christ more.
Christ is Love and Christ is Hope. All who seek Christ by praying and living with His love can experience the joy of His Love in this life. Focus on Christ, not your sorrows. He will help you through everything! This has been a great book to not just read, but to study. After the first pages, now i have learned what it is to be monk. Just finished this great book, and it has changed my life.
A fantastic book about a fantastic man. It is written in the same passion as Wounded By Love. Just ordered the book after reading the quotes of Saint Paisios! Cannot wait to have it. Essential for Christians, especially Orthodox Christians! Bless us Saint Paisios! One of the most precious books for faith, love and lessons of life.
No regrets with this purchase. I purchased two of these books upon recommendation from a friend. Elder Paisios is a revered Monk and many books have been written about and by Elder Paisios. Do not hesitate to purchase this book. They should be in every persons home. Merry Christmas everyone. Purchase this book. Go to Amazon. Back to top. Get to Know Us.

Paisios of Mount Athos
On July 12, one of the greatest Orthodox spiritual elders of our day fell asleep in the Lord after a lifetime of prayer, fasting, and spiritual warfare. Though he was not a priest but a simple monk, he was sought out by priests and even bishops for his spiritual counsel. Being blessed with the grace of the Holy Spirit he was known as a miracle worker and clairvoyant who could read the hearts and thoughts of people. Father Paisios was born in Greece in and was baptized with the name of Arsenius by St. Arsenius of Cappadocia , which was the last priestly act performed by this modern saint. Father Paisios sought out experienced holy elders and hermits who shared with him their spiritual struggles and experiences. He struggled daily to purify his soul of sinful passions and to unite himself to God through prayer.
