The high operating temperatures of specific Advantys STB analog modules is described in this resolution. The microprocessor and digital signal processor, required for this type of module, primarily generate the heat in these modules. These components are guaranteed to operate correctly at higher temperatures by their respective manufacturers. As a function of Schneiders Standard Quality Control processes, all Advantys modules are certified to operate reliably over deg. However, the modules listed above have been designed and tested to operate reliably over an extended ambient operating temperature range between degrees C and 70 degrees C.

The purpose of this resolution is to provide Advantys STB users with the means to determine current requirements in their STB Island and help select which current sources are required. Bus current requirements of STB Island modules and bus current supplying module capabilities are listed in this document.
There is also a field device load totalizer that may be used to determine the number of PDT modules required. After Island bus current requirements are totaled, If the NIM module bus current capability is exceeded, it may be augmented by the following current sources: End of Segment - Beginning of Segment combinations.
These cable linked modules are used when Islands served by a single network communicating NIM are separated, or when additional bus current is required.
